Campbell is the founding director of MALA and leads the design and management of all projects undertaken by the studio. Under Campbell’s leadership the studio has quickly developed a large cross section of work across the public, private commercial sectors.
Prior to establishing MALA Campbell worked for ten years at Talyor Cullity Lethlean (TCL) an award winning and internationally recognised Landscape Architecture and Urban Design firm. During his time at TCL Campbell worked on and led many award winning projects across all sectors for clients such as Places Victoria, The City of Melbourne, Parks Victoria, Vic Roads, Zoos Victoria The Royal Botanic Gardens, ACT Government, City of Manly and Waterfront Auckland.
Campbell also spent three years in local government working for the City of Boroondara. During this time Campbell managed the Urban and Civic Design Portfolio and oversaw the design and implementation of the Camberwell Fresh Food Market Public Realm, the Hawthorn Arts Centre Civic space, the Glenferrie Underpass Project and the Burwood Village Shopping Centre.
Campbell also managed the Shopping Centre Improvement Plan and the Camberwell Laneways Strategy.
